About us

Sakapfet.com started as an idea for the desire of more information on Haiti. The developer of Sakapfet.com, Michael Emeran, saw this need and began, primarily as a hobby, a website dedicated to Haitian culture. After asking his Internet Provider to install a counter on his page, he saw several hundred hits grow into thousands.

Teaming up with long time business associate, Vincent Medina, both set out to develop a community website entirely dedicated to provide the Haitian community with updated information about their culture, their people and their country. Before long they found that their efforts where attracting several thousand users a week. Gradually they began to spend more and more time developing interactive applications intending to keep the user informed of activities and events.

What set Sakapfet.com apart from other sites, was not having to mask, as thier own, third party information services. This allowed the site to be managed easily and not rely on the efforts of others. The most important aspect of this, was minimal promotion of corporate entities, which most internet sites rely on.

Today we continue to develop customized software and incorporate several custom packages such as real time message boards and IRC CHAT. We were flatterd when asked to be the official T-Vice fan site and the continued growth, has inspired us to keep going. The site is designed to be interactive with the visitor. As such we assign elected frequent visitors with limited management rights and privilidges. They act as a pipeline to the new and current users wants and needs. We make every effort to incorporate these suggestion into Sakapfet.com. We appreciate you taking time to visit and grow with us. Remember to tell your friends about Sakapfet.com.
